PROCESS

A structured approach, tailored to the individual. Strong career materials don’t come from templates or prompts. They come from understanding what you’ve done, what matters most, and how to tell that story clearly and convincingly. The process at Imagemakers, Ink is designed to draw out the right information, shape it into a compelling narrative, and translate it into materials that work in real hiring situations.

STEPS

01. DISCOVERY

The process begins with a detailed questionnaire followed by a one-on-one conversation. The goal isn’t to collect surface facts, it’s to uncover:

→ Key accomplishments and outcomes.
→ Decisions you’ve made and problems you’ve solved.
→ Scope, responsibility, and progression.
→ Patterns that indicate strength, judgment, and value.

Many clients are surprised by what emerges in this phase. Important achievements previously overlooked simply because they felt routine at the time.

02. NARATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Once the raw material is gathered, the focus shifts to story and positioning. This involves:
→ Identifying which accomplishments will resonate most with decision-makers.
→ Determining what should be emphasized, condensed, or left out.
→ Shaping a narrative that aligns with the roles you’re targeting.
This is where experience becomes marketable, not just accurate.

03. WRITING AND REFINEMENT

With the narrative defined, materials are written from scratch. This may include:
→ Résumés.
→ Cover letters or professional bios.
→ LinkedIn profiles or supporting materials.
Drafts are reviewed and refined to ensure clarity, tone, and alignment with your goals. The emphasis is on precision and impact.

04. STRATEGY AND SUPPORT

For many clients, materials are only part of the transition. When appropriate, support may also include:

→ Strategies for getting in front of decision-makers.
→ Interview preparation and positioning.
→ Compensation and offer negotiation.
→ Thinking through timing and trade-offs.

This guidance is practical and situation-specific, based on your circumstances and objectives.

WHAT THIS PROCESS PRIORITIZES

→ Thoughtful intake.
→ Judgment not templates.
→ Substance over surface.
→ Materials that support real decisions.
